EMDR

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a proven therapy that helps people recover from difficult or upsetting life experiences, including trauma, abuse, bullying, grief, relationship difficulties, anxiety, and PTSD. Sometimes, distressing memories can become “stuck” in the brain, causing strong emotions, thoughts, and physical reactions when something reminds a person of the event. EMDR helps the brain process these memories in a healthier way so they become less overwhelming and easier to manage. Backed by extensive research, EMDR is recognised as an effective treatment for both adults and young people and has been shown to help with a wide range of emotional and mental health challenges.
HOW CAN provide emdr therapy?
EMDR therapy is provided by qualified mental health professionals who have completed specialised EMDR training and are registered with recognised professional bodies such as AHPRA or PACFA. Practitioners who are members of the EMDR Association of Australia (EMDRAA) are required to meet professional and ethical standards and participate in ongoing professional development.
